Review of Dirty Thirty by Janet Evanovich

As is spelled out in the title, Dirty Thirty, which was published in 2023, is the 30th Stephanie Plum novel.  In this installment, Stephanie is still in her thirties and still stuck between a rock and a hard place – the rock being Joe and the hard place being Ranger.  In addition to her crowded love life, Stephanie’s still working as a bounty hunter in Trenton, and a big-ticket bond has gone FTA.  Thus, begins Stephanie’s latest adventure.

During her search for big-ticket guy, Stephanie encounters a house full of foster cats, babysits Joe’s dog Bob while Joe's in Miami, and captures a few other FTAs to pay her bills.  When Lula is forced to move into Stephanie’s apartment, Stephanie and Bob move in with Ranger.  Eventually, she and the rest of the gang beat the bad guys.  And by the end of the book, both Ranger and Joe have proposed marriage to her.  Holy crap!

As usual, this was a fast, fun, and exciting read with danger and humor in just the right mix.  I get the feeling, though, that book 31 will be the last (although, I hope not), and Stephanie will finally choose between Joe and Ranger.  Please, oh please, Goddess Janet, let her choose Ranger.  Joe can always find a sweet nurse to marry.  Unfortunately, we're all going to have to wait until November 2024 to find out.

Team Ranger, all the way!  Who’s with me?
